Adventure Intro:

War. War never changes.

The world has never been a safe place. Bastions of civilization
populate a dark, menacing world - islands of order and reason existing
in a land otherwise overrun by dark cults and vile monsters, creatures
from the dark edges of imagination.

Elsir Vale is one such place, a quiet frontier land bordered by
mountains. It is inhabitied by farming communities and various small
cities and towns. No monarch or ruler holds sway over the Vale; each
city is run by a council or mayor, and managed its own affairs in a
general state of peace.

To the west, the Vale is bounded by the Stonehome Mountains, where the
city of Overlook and the fortress of Bordrin's Watch hold back the
orcish incursions from the savage lawless lands further west. To the
east, across the Golden Plains, lies the eladrin city of Astrazalin,
at least some of the time. Known to residents of the Vale as the City
of Starlight, Astrazalin spends spring and summer of every year among
the peoples of the World, fading away to Somewhere Else when autumn
comes.

To the north, outside the borders of the Vale lie the ruins of the
city of Rhest, once the center of a kingdom that spanned the entirety
of the Vale, but now a long crumbled remnant inhabited mostly by
lizardfolk and other creatures best left unmentioned. Finally, to the
south, past the Thornwaste, lay the Drylands, an extensive desert
seemingly without end.

The Vale stretches almost 250 miles from east to west, and averages
roughly 70 miles from north to south. Summers are hot and dry, while
winters are warm and rainy. The largest town in the Vale is Brindol,
located almost precisely at its center. It is at Brindol that only 40
years ago the great hobgoblin army of the Red Hand was defeated, torn
apart in disorganization when its leader, Azarr Kul was felled by a
small band of heroes.

The threat was vanquished, but the damage wrecked by the armies of the
Red Hand was significant, taking over a generation before life would
begin to return to normal. Even now, there are places in the Vale
where the scars of war have not fully healed, outlying communities
which have remained abandoned, dwarven outposts which now lie in
ruins. The dangerous creatures who inhabit the Blackfens are said to
have grown bolder. Some even whisper that while the Red Hand was
defeated, the scales have tipped in favor of the darkness.

It is into this fragile state of affairs that rumors of war have once
again surfaced. From Overlook the call has gone out beseeching any
able-bodied men and women from across the Vale to mobilize and join
forces with the defenders of Bordrin's Watch. The walls of Bordrin's
Watch have held back countless orc hordes in the past, but rumors
suggest this time is different. There is worry in the air that this
time, the fort will fall, unable to hold back what is supposedly the
largest gathering of the western tribes in generations.

Adventure 1:  Scales of War Intro


The adventure picks up in a tavern in Brindol.  The group of adventurers are having a beer while Lydia preaches about the dangers of the sauce.  Suddenly a group of hobgoblins burst in and start cutting down barflys and bar wenches.  The group reacts by killing a few hobgoblins but more rush in followed by a goblin who calls out to snag the red hand banner on the wall. 

The group twarts the hobgoblins and Kavilion bravely runs into the fire to snag the banner that was proudly displayed as a war trophy of Brindol defeating the Red Hand not long ago.

The group runs out and helps put out the fire that the hobgoblins set to the tavern and soon see an Ogre pulling a cart with 2 hobgoblin archers on it.  The group quickly attacks the ogre and the druid lights the cart on fire and it contained plenty of oil.  The group killed the ogre and his 2 friends.

The druid runs off into the woods tracking the hobgoblins that fled Brindol and headed to Red Rock.

The group is informed the next morning that many townsfolk have been captured and one hobgoblin remained alive.  The group interogates the hobgoblin and find out about a castle Rivenroar.  The group heads to Rivenroar via a road past west something or other. 

Getting closer to Red Rock the group is ambushed by a hive of kruthiks.  The Druid is nearby and comes to their aid.  The dwarf and warden fight valiantly and keep the cleric, ranger, and warlock safe.

Adventure 2:  Rivenroar

The group makes it to Rivenroar.  The group finds a double door entrance and proceeds down a long stairway.  The group encounters 3 hobgoblins and 2 goblin archers.  The group quickly kills them but needs to rest after their long travels.

The group rests the night and meets a drow rogue named Belgos.  Belgos is seeking a particular dark one and believes he is in the ruins of Rivenroar.

The next morning the group descends to find that the hobgoblins are now undead and they put up a bit of a fight.

The group finishes the zombies and heads through the right door to find a hallway leading to a room with glowing runes carved into the floor.  Three swarms of lizards attack Derend and Stone and knock them down.  A goblin appears and Kavilion shoots him then it disappears.  Somehow the lizards surround Quinn the druid.  Quinn is eaten alive by the swarms of lizards.  Stone falls again and is swarmed but the brave warlock Mardek chooses to grab him and drag him out of danger.  When the goblin appears again Kavilion shoots him multiple times and the goblin dies.  The group takes a beating but manages to overcome the lizards.

Mardek tell the group that the runes mention the burial shrine of a royal family. The group rests after taking a beating from the lizards. 

Adventure 3:  Exploring Rivenroar

The group searches further with the aid of Baern and another dwarf alchemist who they rescue. 

The group finds a hobgoblin group waiting in ambush and fight through it.  The group then chases 2 goblin archers over 2 pits and encounter more hobgoblins.  Derend and Lydia fall into the pit.  Belgos and Kavilion go to rescue Derend and Lydia who see 2 Rage Drakes approaching through the mushrooms.

Stone and Derend make it back to help Kavilion and Belgos, but Belgos is struck down.  Stone is then struck down and Kavilion and Mardek flee with the alchemist pulling a fallen Baern behind.  Derend valiantly holds the line and is shot down by hobgoblin archers.  Lydia surrenders and then falls while trying to climb the rope out of the mushroom pit.

Adventure 4:  Return to Rivenroar

The 3 are met by a half-elf Paladin in the forest and the next morning 3 more strangers join the party.

The new group returns to the area of the slaughter and finds Baern's equipment.  The group tries a different route and heads through some doors to find some magmaclaws and some goblin archers. 

The group pursues another goblin archer up a flight of stairs to find a few chillborn and a necromancer.  The chillborn kill the dwarf alchemist and proceed to immobilize Valna, Mardek and then Kavilion.  Valna and Mardek flee, but then return to save Kavilion with the whole group taking cold punishment from the chillborn.  Another encounter barely survived.

Adventure 5:  Retreat from Rivenroar

The party rested then returned to the location where the dwarf died.  The group went into another room to find prisoners and instead found a dozen hobgoblins and 3 spitting drakes.  The drakes proved destructive with their acid spittle and a goblin caster showed up to blind Baern and Albrick.  The group overcame the hobgoblins and eventually shot the goblin dead but the drakes took some time and it gave the boss hobgoblin time to arrive.  The group had to flee and Baern was the unlucky party member left behind as the defenders fled first followed by the strikers, while the controller lay dying.

The group retreated back to a campsite and found Thava, a swordmage.  The group rested for the night to recuperate from the damaging fight.

The next morning the group encountered another group of hobgoblins near the entrance to the ruins.  The group was ambushed by 2 goblin archers and 2 hobgoblin archers but Kavilion and Mardek managed to eliminate the ranged attackers while Valna attacked a drake and Rose and Thava eliminated the hobgoblin fighters.

Adventure 6:  Return to Rivenroar again

The group continued to Rivenroar and went down the large stairs behind doors at the center of the main entrance chamber.

The group encountered 2 rage drakes and ripped them apart quite easily.  The group avoided some poisonous mushrooms and found a room with an old woman bound in a magic circle.  Thava freed the woman by pulling her out of the circle, he took a bit of fire damage, but the woman survived.  The group brought the old woman back to the camp site.

Next the group headed to the location where Baern dropped and the hobgoblins made them flee.  The group had to kill a bunch of headless zombies.  Upon further travels they found the room with Sinruth the lead hobgoblin and ripped him and his buddies apart.  The group subdued Sinruth and tied him up to keep as a prisoner after Albrick intimidated him into surrendering.

The group found out that Sinruth was working with the Van something family who were undead denizens of Rivenroar.

The group coerced Sinruth to reveal the location of some prison cells and the group rescued another elderly man.  Sinruth broke from his bonds and attacked Thava.  Thava was taking a beating as the rest of the party sat back and watched.  Eventually, Kavilion filled the hobgoblin full of arrows and Thava survived.

Adventure 7:  Undead in Rivenroar

The group continued forward looking for the small boy.  The group found and fought quite a few ghouls and zombies.  The group found a scrying room and members were able to recognize areas of Rivenroar.

The group proceeded to chase a ghoul and found a disgusting gut monster with a few zombies climbing on walls.  The group killed the monster and the zombies but needed to rest after the fight. 

The group barred the doors in the scrying room and then proceeded to rest.  During the night Kavilion watched the scrying pool and determined that a few zombies and ghouls tried to break in but failed. 

The next morning the group found a hallway leading to a throne room where the deathlock wight and bleached skeleton sat.  The group was surrounded by zombies and skeletons while a goblin and the deathlock wight attacked from a distance.

The group managed to kill the zombies and the skeletons with some effort and eventually the wight and boneshard skeleton fell to the combined forces of the party.

The group rescued the child cowering in the corner.

Adventure 8:  Cleaning out Rivenroar

The party rescued the boy and returned him and the old fighter to the witch.  The group returned to Rivenroar to find a slew of rats but little else.  Albricht sanctified all the evil alters he could find.

The group returned to town but had contracted filth fever.  Many days the group battled the disease until they were healed by the temple of Erathis.

Valna rescued the boy and became a foster parent of sorts.

The group was rewarded then asked to head West to the frontier where an orc incursion had begun.  The group obliged and headed out.  A few days down the road they encountered a squad of orcs.  The group dispatched the orcs quickly.

Adventure 9:  The Road to the Overlook

The group met the Riders and were encouraged to head to Overlook together with them.  The riders told the party about the Orcs and Overlook.

At Overlook the group found the Dwarf they needed to talk to and explored the city to some extent.  The group got into a fight with some brigands and killed most of them except for a mage who got away.

The group then proceeded to the town hall to get orders to go rescue members of a monastery in the mountains.  The group travelled quickly but when they arrived the courtyard was filled with orcs.  The party dispatched the orcs but what remained ahead inside the monastery was a mystery.

Adventure 10:  The Monastery

The group entered further into the Monastery to fight a group of orcs.  The orcs were accompanied by a handful of orog. Kavilion was threatened on a ledge and flipped off to critical hit and kill an orog. 

The group quickly drove the orcs and orog down and headed further to find a large cavern where some orcs were advancing.  Kavilion was knocked from a steep cliff and fell 40'.  The group quicky rescued him.  Feisty held the orcs at bay by blocking up the stairwell passage. 

The group shot at the advancing orcs but one fled down the stairs into the darkness.



Adventure 11:  Seeking the Lava Vents

The group journeyed further into the caverns to encounter a hoard of orcs with a captured Dwarf Kalad and Tiefling Jinn.  The group battled the orcs and defeated them and rescued the dwarf and tiefling.  The dwarf told the group that more lava vents could be opened to block the orc incursion through the tunnels.

The group went with the dwarf and proceeded to fight some more orcs.

Adventure 12:  Nearing Dwarven Lava Vents

The group found a sorceress Athena who was trapped by the orcs and allowed her to join the group.

The group proceeded further and came to a location with many iron defenders and arbalesters blocking a corridor.  The group attacked them since they would harm anyone not a dwarf.  The group beat down the guardians of the vents.

The next room, the group found a hoard of orc and some fire beetles.  The group quickly cut through the orcs when a dark one appeared.  The group beat down some of the fire beetles when Kavilion ran up and put an arrow through the dark one's head and the orc archer nearby with split the tree.  The group quicky dispatched the remaining orc archers.  The group opened some valves by Kalad instructions to help fill chambers with boiling water.

The group found an intersection and Kalad the dwarf insisted that the group make way to a shrine of Moradin.  At the shrine the group found a dozen orcs and a cave troll.  Kavilion targeted the bombardier orcs while the rest of the group concentrated on the orc minions and the cave troll.  The cave troll didn't stand a chance against Thava, Valna, and Rose.  Albricht, Athena and Mardek wiped away the orc minions. 

The group decided to rest for the evening since the many combats weighed heavily upon them.

Adventure 13:  Flooding the Nexus

The group rested in the shrine but were rudely interrupted by an onslaught of orcs.  The group quickly dispatched them and completed their rest.

The next morning the group headed to the barracks to find them ramsacked.  The orcs were indeed there.  The group moved on to the Nexus to flood the tunnels with boiling water.

In the nexus the group encountered a dozen orcs, orog, and a shard-aki witch.  The group beat down the orog champion and killed his minions, archers, and bombardiers.  Thava single handedly held back a group of orcs and orog moving in to flank the group by almost sacrificing his life to friend and foe attacks. 

Albricht had a bad day with wild magic pushing his friends around the walkways as his spells backfired.  Kavilion killed the big orog leader after Rose sliced through the big brute.  Rose, Kavilion, and Mardek took out the witch as Thava, Valna and Kalad held off multiple orcs each.  Athena took out many orc minions and damaged many orog.
Jinn bravely took multiple shots as he led the group towards the orc archers and bombardiers.  Rolph kept Thava alive with his goat's powers.  Kavilion killed the remaining two orcs threatening Thava with a sub-par split the tree attack.

Eventually, the group and Kalad managed to reach the control section for the valves to release the boling water into the tunnels.  Moments later the room they were in was flooding as they escaped up a ladder to a hatch to the outside world.  Madrick a gnome awaited the groups arrival and assisted them.

Between Adventure Interlude

Arriving at Bordrin's Watch, Kalad and Feisty's Kids are received as heroes, although many are troubled at the reported deaths of the Farstriders. The orcish army camped in the pass leading to Bordrin's Watch seems dispirited, and hangs back as if waiting for something for two days, sending only half-hearted assaults towards the keep which are easily repelled through the combined heroics of the Freeriders and Feisty's Kids (although Madrick continually has trouble seeing over the crenellations along the Watch's walls).

The day after arriving at Bordrin's Watch Kalad approaches the party during the evenings meal. He seems to have trouble talking as he relays how thankful he is that the Kids arrived at the Monastery not only to save him, but to help seal the Nexus and save the Watch, Overlook, and possibly the entire Vale. Looking to each of you, he insists you are chosen by Moradin for great things. Removing a pendant from around his neck, he places the steel chain on the table in front of you. "No doubt you will need this chain's protection more than I in the coming battle. Take it in Moradin's name, and with the Monastery's blessing". He refuses to accept payment or, indeed, any form of recompense, aside from the Kids friendship. Touching the chain, it is obviously imbued with a number of protective enchantments, and provides the effects of an Amulet of Protection.

By the third day of the siege, the orcish army's agitation seems to build to a
head. Fights and arguments swirl through the encampments, and several of the
Watch's defenders speculate the army may tear itself apart before an actual
attack is even launched.

Alas, the Watch is not so lucky, and as the sun reaches its zenith the army
begins to move, the orcs in front driven forward by the cruel orogs behind them.
Their numbers are impressive, but mean little pushed against the walls of
Bordin's Watch. The fighting is grim and bloody, but obviously heavily weighed
in favor of the defenders. Several times throughout the day, Feisty's Kids as
well as the Freeriders prove themselves exceptional heroes, striking down those
few clearing the walls, and singling out those leaders foolish enough to reveal
themselves. Slowly the orc army limps away from the walls, heavily wounded from
the fighting, to nurse its wounds as the day ends.

Adventure 14:  Searching for Lost Ones

The group was attacked by a group of Lost Ones and a wizard escaped again. 

Adventure 15:  Tunnels under the Tavern

Defeated some Shard-akai, Troll, Dark Ones and Wraiths.

Adventure 16: Arriving at Umbraforge

Arrived in the Shadowfell following Modra. In the Umbraforge camp the group looked around to find many mercenary bands.

Adventure 17: Uncrushables are born

The group was attacked by orges and barely survived but took the name Uncrushables after defeating the Crushers.  The group saved the slaves from a volcanic dragon.

Adventure 18: Defeating Modra

The group went to the forge and found Modra.  The group defeated many goblins and Modra. 

Adventure 19:  Sharshan's place?

The group worked their way down the hall after picking Modra's body clean.  The group opened a door and surprised a bunch of SHar-da-kai.  The group killed them then proceeded to a tower where they killed 2 sages.  The group went up the tower to find a garden of sorts and had to deal with a bunch of bugs and beetles.  After the bugs, the group fought a wraith and more Shar-da-kai.  The group barely survived but when they fled they were found by multiple guards and Sharshan himself.  The group refused to join forces with him and luckily an aleart went off and he had to leave them to be executed by his captain Thannu.

Adventure 20:  Captain Thannu

The group managed to defeat Captain Thannu and his pet panther.  Kavilion and Mardek shot the heck out of Captain Thannu while Athena handled the panther.  Valna showed up just in time to save the day.  The entire party was very weak. 
The group found a bit of treasure then used the gates to get back to the world and the city.

The group took a job to find a gold mine that had been lost.

Adventure 21:  Heading for the Lode

The group set out across some wastelands and encountered some man named blackthorn.  The group didn't stray from their mission so headed straight through the wastes.

On the way they were ambushed by a bunch of dwarves from hammerfist.  The group took time killing them and their hell hounds.  No one questioned where dwarves got hellhounds from.

The group then exited the wastelands and came upon a town. They saw a gnoll standing over a human about to kill him and a Behir standing close by.

Adventure 22:  A Behir and gnoll

The group finds themselves at Dunesend and meet a mean gnoll warden and a Behir.  The group starts attacking the gnoll and a group of satyr come out from hiding.  The group manages to kill the gnoll and take quite a few shots from the Behir.  The bloodied group manages to kill the Behir and 2 satyrs before the last satyr runs away.  The town isn't too pleased with the turn of events because they fear a queen Shephatiah.

The group continued on an encoutered a witch in the wastes.

Adventure 23:  The Howling Hag

Valna and Rose went to rescue an old lady but she turns out to be a howling hag.  She fights the group with a bunch of shifter claws.  The group defeat the hag and continue to an old dwarven fortress.

The group led by Mardek climb to the roof and find a way in.  Rose climbs down and is attacked by a Carrion Crawler.  The group starts shooting down and a bunch of harpies fly at them from the sky.  The harpies lower everyone into the castle pit except Kavilion who remains on the roof shooting harpies. 

The group defeats the crawler and the harpies but then a bunch of trogs approach.  The group takes out the trogs after a bit of effort.

Adventure 24:  Exploring the Dwarven Fortress

The group explored the fortress further and found some human guards and another chamber with Queen Shiskabob.  The group quickly killed her and her minion guards. 

The group was alerted that a crazy wanderer was kept prisoner below the castle.

Adventure 25:  Beneath the Dwarven Fortress

The group continued to the lower level and found some burbalangs but little else.  The group found and old man with some canaries and let him walk into a sand storm.

The group tried to rest for the night but were attacked by a Trog and some Chokers.  The group cleared them out and rested for the night.

Adventure 26:  Deeper Beneath the Dwarven Fortress

The group searched after a nights rest and finally stumbled upon a few feathers that led the group to discover a lift system under one of the cell floors.

The group descended into the mine and fought some trogs through a portcullis.  Mardek bravely teleported ahead and opened the gate.  The group defeated the trogs then headed further into the mine.

In the mine they found a vein of pure chaos and then came the barlgura, chillborn, 2 carrion crawlers, and a swarm of spiders.  The group quickly killed the chillborn and right after that killed the Barlgura.  The crawlers and spiders descended from the ceilings and attacked the group.  The group dispatched the crawlers and then finished off the spiders last.

Adventure 27:  The Karak Lode

The group searched further into the caverns and finally came upon a Naga, a fire lasher, and 3 Mezzodemons.  Kavilion immediately targetted the Naga while the rest of the group dealt with the demons.  The firelasher appeared a little later to shift through the group burning most of the party severly. 

Kavilion flipped over a rift to keep the pressure on the naga who kept dazing the party with thunder bursts. 

Mardek managed to kill one of the Mezzodemons that the group was concentrating on.

Eventually Rose and Valna fell to the onslaught of the poison and tridents of the Mezzodemons and Rolph could barely keep them healthy.  Athena teleported near Kavilion and the Naga knocked them both to death with a thunder burst. 

Mardek seeing the grim nature of the situation, sent his dragonkin familiar to pour a potion of healing into Kavilion's mouth.  Right after he did that squish was killed by the Naga's whipping tail. 

Valna and Rose managed to get up and kill one of the Mezzodemons.  Kavilion used Athena's potion to heal her then he shot the Naga dead.

With only one Mezzodemon left the group could recover and then it too fell victim to Kavilion's arrows.  The firelasher retreated to the rift into the elemental chaos below.

The group searched and discovered that the Naga was truely Queen Shepitiah.  The group then took a nap back in the strong hold above and left for Dunesend.  After another night in Dunesend the group returned to reveal what they had found.

The group split their look and said farewell to Rolph and Fiesty.  The group would have to find some way to augment his healing.


Adventure 28:  The Trap around Alice

The group got some rest and soon discovered that Alice the messenger was looking for them.  They searched for her and found that she had been kidnapped by the Lost Ones.  Not afraid of a challenge and knowing that a trap awaited them, the group searched around to find a location where Alice might be held.

The group met a strange mercenary elf named Thorn and he was a bit helpful.  Thron told Kavilion that there was a bounty on the members of Fiesty's kids.

The group met Agreigious the bard singer in a rough bar and he wanted to help rescue Alice to get back at the lost ones.

The group ventured to a temple and found Alice tied up, but before they could do anything the trap was sprung and dogs were released and Zsagen the wizard attacked them.

Rose went in first and got attacked by a dog and 2 kidnappers and Valna was attacked by 2 dogs and a kidnapper.  Kavilion concentrated on Zsagen and the group soon found some additional assassins coming in from behind them. 

Rose was knocked unconscious and without Fiesty she had to rely on Mardek to rescue her with a healing potion.

Kavilion was distracted from Saggen by one of the kidnappers but managed to stay away from his threats.  Athena blasted the dogs pestering Rose and Valna while Agregious helped where he could.

Adventure 29:  Escaping the Trap

The group managed to defeat the kidnappers and 2 assassin changelings that joined in the fight.  Kavilion took aim at Zsagen and killed him.  Thorn showed up moments after the battle to tell the group that he took care of a changeling outside and he saw a lost one flee the scene.

The adventurers rescued Alice and received a message from Brindol.  The group interrogated the remaining lost one but he was of little help due to poor intimidation.  The group turned him over to the city guard and went to rest for the night.

The group decided to let Agrecocles join them since he helped out the Uncrushables.

The next morning the group purchased horses and rode with Alice towards Brindol.  On the way they found a clan of dwarves patrolling for gnolls.

Arriving late in Talar they stayed to have a drink in an inn.  During their rest a group of dwarves burst in to fight them with every intention of killing them.  The battle waged fiercely and the Uncrushables were taking a beating while Rose tried to put out the fire.

Adventure 30:  The Fire In Talar

The group was able to defeat the dwarves and bandits in the tavern and Rose was able to combat the fire.  The group was met quite convieniently by Thorn who shot one of the trouble makers from outside. 

The group stayed at the Inn for the night but Thron continued East.  Mardek didn't trust Thorn and after setting out for Brindol he devised a plan.  In Brindol the group met with Kalad and he spoke of a Greystone fortress that a magic sword was talking to him about.  The sword told the group some details and after a bit of research the group set out.

The group sat and waited for Thorn because Mardek throught he would be following them, but it turned out that he may have gone ahead of them to set some traps.  Kavilion was able to determine that many of the traps that they encountered were elven in construction. 

The group never met up with Thorn, but found the fortress guarded by gnolls.  Kavilion stayed at his exreme range and pelted the gnolls with arrows.  Eventually the group ran the gnolls inside and the group proceeded to the stone doors.

On the way Kavilion and Valna took cover near a huge statue and it slammed Valna with a mighty fist.  The doors soon opened and the gnolls rushed out.  Athena pushed the statue off its base and dow the side of a cliff, but it recovered.  During the combat the group discovered that the statue was somehow animated by a spirit and it fled to the next statue to fight once again. 

Eventually the group overcame the gnolls and spirit and headed to the doorway to find more gnolls waiting.

Adventure 31:  Fortress Greystone and Thorn

Just as the group was trying to rest after defeating the gnolls at the stairs, Thorn appeared behind them with a bunch of animals.  Two wolves and two eagles attacked the party.  Kavilion helped the party by targeting the animals but his focus remained on his traiterous brother Thorn. 

Thorn was a tough target, but eventually the group defeated him.  Mardek wanted him dead and Kavilion obliged as Thorn tried to flee.

The group then entered the Fortress and fought another group of gnolls.

Adventure 32:  Deeper into Fortress Greystone

The group searched around after questioning the dead Thorn.  The group found a way into the Fortress mirrors and searched around.  The group encountered a practice room full of gnolls preparing for battle, lead by a Shard-a-kai.  The group defeated the gnolls and defeated the Shard-a-kai.  The group spared his life and gathered some information about the Fortress. 

The group proceeded in a round about fashion and ended up in the main chamber with the Gnoll high priest.  The group interrupted his ritual and started to fight him.  The group looked like things were going well when another pack of gnolls entered the chamber.

Adventure 33:  The Gnoll ritual chamber in the Fortress Greystone

The group managed to defeat the gnoll priest and a half-dozen other gnolls that joined the fight.  The group was able to stop the ritual and free the girl trapped in the platinum sword. 

The group returned to the prison cells and rescued 3 people from the cells.  The group returned to Brindol with the people so they may proceed home safely.  The group decided to escort the girl back to Overlook where she left the group.
